The Trees to Tap report provides the results of a scientific literature review examining the effects of active forest management (timber harvest, forest roads and reforestation) on drinking water quality. The report was authored by researchers from the Oregon State University Institute for Natural Resources and was funded by a grant from the Oregon Forest Resources Institute. In addition to a literature review, Trees to Tap includes the results of a survey of Oregon community water suppliers that rely on surface water from forested watersheds, as well as three case studies. This final PDF report is a “working papers” version. Oregon State University Extension plans to formally publish the report in hard copy in the fall of 2020.
