Details: Alder Creek Children's Forest (ACCF) is a 78-acre educational site located one mile west of I-5 and Canyonville with four miles of signed trails and day and overnight camp facilities. The educational program is designed for young citizens to learn to work together to create healthy, sustainable forests, watersheds, and communities, and benefits from a wide range of community and technical partnerships. ACCF teams up with the Oregon Natural Resource Education Program for twice-annual educator workshops that pair curricula with age-appropriate training in computer and field technologies, so that participating classes can prepare in the classroom and computer lab for field explorations and service learning ventures, then follow up after fieldwork with analysis, documentation, and online data sharing to enhance their field experience.
Cost: Free This is a linked field, classroom, and computer lab program
