Why use wood?
When trees are converted into wood products, such as furniture and homes, carbon is stored in those products indefinitely, keeping it out of the atmosphere — an attribute not shared by alternative materials like concrete and steel.

Wood products can be sourced locally. Rather than being mined, manufactured and hauled across the country, or even across the world, we can source wood products practically in our own backyards.
Wood has also inherent structural characteristics, such as light weight and flexibility, that allow wood-frame buildings to perform well in earthquakes and high wind.
