Riding through the forest
Riding trails give us access to some of the state’s best scenic landscapes in a variety of forest types, ages and elevations. Oregon’s state and national forests and parks allow for leisurely bike rides, mountain biking over rocks and ruts, horseback riding on the coast, ATV riding through the dunes and snowmobiling in a winter wonderland. Of course, in state and national parks these activities are allowed on designated trails only, because they are managed for safety and access.
It’s important to know your trail well before you start out to avoid not only getting lost but also damaging habitats or wildlife. Skidding and off-roading damage plants in the area and also cause erosion of valuable soil.
